The Michigan Technological University
Department of Computer Science was founded in 1985 as an undergraduate
program. The department now has 14 regular faculty,
1 lecturer, more than
40 graduate students, and over
300 undergraduate majors. The department offers the
B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. Additionally, the
department plays a key role in the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in
Computational Science and Engineering. Research activities in the
department focus in the areas of artificial intelligence, computer
graphics, computer science education, scientific computing, systems,
and software engineering.
